Start a project from an accepted quote

Turn an eligible accepted quote into a project draft, then add a phase and schedule a task.

Check that the quote can start a project

The quote must be Accepted, have a total, and have no linked project. Open it from Quotes and choose Start a project under What happens next. The customer and any property are carried over from the signed quote.

Give the project a name. Its Contract value comes from the signed total and cannot be changed on this form. Add start date, target finish, and scope if known, then choose Create project.

Projects list in the office app.
A new project begins as a draft linked to the accepted quote.

Add the first phase and task

The new project opens in Draft. Open its Schedule tab and choose Add a phase. Enter a phase name and optional planned dates, then add the phase. Under that phase, choose Schedule work, enter a short description, select a day in the planned window, and add the task.

Confirm the saved project

Check the project name, customer, property when present, Draft status, and Contract value. Reopen Schedule and confirm the phase and task appear on the selected day. Return to the quote and confirm its project link opens the same project.

Creating this draft does not activate field work, assign a crew, send another quote, or collect payment. Scheduling the task does not dispatch it.
